"The way
of the just is smooth; the path of the just you make level." |
|
|
Isaiah
26:7 |
|
|
You don't
have to be a skeptic to read this and go, "Huh? Smooth? Are you sure?" Isaiah makes it sound like if you live
your life justly your life will be easy and that's enough to make us furrow
our brow and wince...smooth? But
Jesus had the answer for those who had not experienced the "smooth"
path Isaiah talked about. Jesus
said, "Come to me all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you
rest." (Matthew 11:28.) Jesus
knew that those who tried so hard and followed God's teachings were still
suffering from a rocky, "un-smooth" path. Jesus didn't experience a
"smooth" path while He walked the earth so He knew first hand that
Isaiah's words may not ring true to folks. He knew that the key to smoothness
lies in Him and
He offered them a lifeline. So,
if today your path isn't smooth, heed the words of Jesus..."Come to me
all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest..." Love, Heidi |
