Baptism preparation class is for parents and Godparents of infants and children seven years old and younger. One class lasting between two to four hours is required. Applications are available at the church office along with the preparation package needed in order to review teh Sacrament. This class will help impress upon the parents and Godparents the responsibility of the Godparents for the children of Catholic Christians.

Confirmation Requirements Document

Preparation for confirmation is included in the Religious Education Program. Preparation classes for this sacrament involves a two year preparation period beginning in the ninth grade and ending with confirmation. Youth candidates for confirmation need to have been baptized, received First Communion and First Reconciliation. Those youth that have not received these sacraments and are in the ninth grade are referred to the RCIC program.

Any Roman Catholic who wants to be married in the Catholic Church must complete a marriage preparation course or attend an engaged encounter weekend. The marriage preparation courses are a series of five or six classs covering numerous subjects, including Spirituality, the Sacrament of Marriage, Communication, Parenting, Intimacy, and Finances. These classes are taught by married couples from the parish both in English and Spanish. Classes are typically held twice a year, once in the spring and once in the fall.

This program is a one year basic study of the teachings of the Catholic Church and a personal discovery of faith. It is the student's choice to join the Catholic Church. This program is for grades 6 through high school. Younger children are baptized and go through First Reconciliation and First Communion classes. THe class is held once a monthwith weekly work sheets. A retreat is included. You do not make a commitment to become Catholic by being in the class, this is a discernment process. Classes start in September and end at Easter. A student must wait for next year to enter the class after December first.

This ministry is the Catholic Church's way of welcoming as well as instructing persons who are not currently Catholic but who are thinking of becoming members of the Catholic Church. This ministry is also for non-Catholics who want to learn about the Catholic Church or for those baptized Catholic but have not received First Holy Communion and/or Confirmation. After a period of instruction, reflection, prayerful discernment and various rites a person may choose to join the Catholic Church. RCIA serves anyone in the community and the sorrounding are who has a serious interest in Catholicism. There is a need for adults to serve as sponsors for the candidates during their period of discernment. Any Roman Catholic in good standing is eligible to become a sponsor.
