Pastoral Team

The Pastoral Team consists of the Co-Pastors, the Parochial Vicar and the two Pastoral Associates. They meet weekly to review schedules, deal with pastoral issues, set schedules and plan.

Biography:

  •      I was born in Las Vegas Nevada and was raised in Reno Nevada. I attended the American University in Washington DC graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration; International Marketing.
  • � � � � I moved to Idaho in 1978 to work for Morrison-Knudsen Company in Boise, Idaho, employed in the Corporate Marketing and Planning Division.I was a member of the US Peace Corps in 1980-81 serving in the country of Paraguay, South America as a volunteer trainer forming Farming and Agricultural Cooperatives.
  • � � � � I attended Mt. Angel Seminary in Mt. Angel Oregon from 1982-1987 when I was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Boise.
  • � � � � I have served the Diocese as a parochial Vicar at St. Mark’s Boise, Pastor and Campus Minister of St. John’s at ISU in Pocatello, as Rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist and for almost the past 6 years as Pastor of the Idaho Falls Catholic Community in Idaho Falls, Roberts and Mud Lake, Idaho.
  • � � � � In 1992 I received my Pontifical Licentiate in Canon Law (J.C.L.) from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. I have served the Diocese as a Canon Lawyer since 1992. I currently serve the Diocese as an Adjutant Judicial Vicar, The Promotor of Justice, Marriage Tribunal Advocate, and also serve on the Sexual Misconduct Review Board.

Name: Deacon Rick Bonney

Biography:

  • � � � � I am a husband, father, grandfather a teacher and a deacon. I was born and raised Catholic. After 6 years in the US Navy, my wife, Bea, and my son, James and I moved to Idaho Falls in late 1975.� We officially joined Holy Rosary in early 1976.
  • � � � � In 1981 at a Cursillo in Idaho Falls I began to discern a call to the order of Deacon. After a 5 year program I was ordained by Bishop Sylvester Treinen at Holy Rosary.�
  • � � � � In 1991 Bea and I moved to Pocatello so that she could pursue a college degree (Sociology and Social Work) while I worked on my Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry. I worked at the INL until 1998 and was the Parish Deacon for the Student Center at St. John’s in Pocatello.
  • � � � � In 1998 Bishop Brown and Father Joe invited me to take part in a ministry team at the Cathedral in Boise. In 2003 I was transferred (at my request) to Idaho Falls to take part in the combining of Holy Rosary and Christ the King into a single parish community family.
  • � � � � I am now working as a Pastoral Associate for the Parish while Bea is a social worker in Child Protective Services for the State of Idaho.�
  • � � � � I love Church history, scripture and the Eucharist and love to teach about any and all of these topics. I work with the youth. I am honored and humbled by the fact that I am allowed by Holy Orders to minister to the people of Idaho and to preach and teach in the name of Jesus, the Christ.� � �
  • � � � � Idaho Falls is HOME. It is good to be here and to be a member of such a generous and giving community. Bea and I are grateful to be able to call so many of you friends and to be able to work and serve with you.

Biography:

  • I was born in Michoacán, Mexico. I came to the U.S. in 1983, and have lived here since that year. I am married and have four children. I directed the Spanish choir at Holy Rosary from 1983 until my Ordination. Since my ordination, I sing at Christ the King on the second Saturday of the month at the 7:00pm. Spanish Mass. I was Ordained as a Deacon in 2005. Before I was ordained, I worked for our community as a Pastoral Associate. I am doing many different things for our community and for our diocese. I enjoy my ministries here at our community, including coordinating Spanish RCIA, advocating annulment cases, administering Sacraments and visiting the sick and imprisoned.

Hobbies: I like to read, walk and run, to observe nature, and to meditate on all of God’s creation.
